SEMSA Sport and Community Awards 2018
The SEMSA Sport and Community Awards event is scheduled for Friday 02 March 2018. The Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the contributions made by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities within the sporting arena. The awards act as a stimulus to create much needed awareness of the many BAME individuals and organisations that continue to affect change to ensure sport captivates the lives of some of our least active communities. In doing so seek to reduce inequality and promote a more healthier and active nation.
The contributions made by BAME communities remain invaluable to the economic, social and cultural development of Scotland. This awards ceremony is designed to recognise and celebrate these significant contributions. The event provides a platform to showcase, highlight and reward organisations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in their respective sports, from dynamic young stars to well–established veterans.
At a time of great economic change and political debate in our country, the contribution from BAME communities can only enhance the continued integration in our society both economically and culturally.
These awards are our contribution to recognising, acknowledging and celebrating the tremendous contribution made by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities
Nominations close on Thursday 15th February 2018.
